Did you know that throughout the Holy Bible there are over two hundred and fifty (250) references to debt or indebtedness? The writers of these books in the Bible were obviously inspired, however many of the quotes come directly from Our Lord as well. Why do you suppose God was trying to convey to His people the emphasis of being in debt and why being in debt can be the root of so many other problems we face?
As we have discussed in other newsletters on this subject as well as on our website, being in debt alters the way we live our lives, the jobs we take, how we “run” our families, or basically live our lives on a day to day basis. The list is endless. However, those of us that are in debt, especially Christians, know exactly what we are talking about.
What I would like you to do is stop for a moment, in a quiet place with no one else around, and picture yourself without any debt. What would you like look like? Would you be working at the same job you have right now? Or, would you be doing something you enjoy more. It may not pay as much, however without having any debt that would not matter. You would not be a slave to your debt any longer.
Try this exercise. Keep your eyes closed. Would the way you live your day to day life change? Would your marriage be different? Would you live where you currently live? I think these are the things why Our Lord mentions being in debt so many times in Holy Scripture. He does not want us to be slaves to anything, especially our day to day living. In fact, He desires that we live our lives quite the opposite. I believe he wants us to be free! He wants us to be free from our own bondage. He loves us so much he would never want us to be a slave to anything…let alone debt.
Therefore, how do we attain this goal if we are “in the debt trap?” There is a solution, and that solution can be found right on these pages of our website. In fact if you went to our “Contact Us” page and filled out the form we would be able to contact you at your convenience. This way, one of our professional consultants would contact you within 24 hours and go through every step of how a program like debt reduction works.
If you needed someone quicker, simply call our toll free number at 800-890-6658. However do not just sit there and not do anything! Nationwide Debt Reduction does not provide debt consolidation loans. Instead, what we do is to negotiate and settle your unsecured debt (credit cards, personal loans, medical bills etc.) for a fraction of what you currently owe.
Therefore, in our opinion, you will never ever need to borrow money again, especially for something like a debt consolidation loan to get out of debt in the first place. In addition, as a Christian and debt consolidation loans the implication is that you will be paying back the entire principal, interest, last fees and charges that these companies have already charged you. We do not believe in that philosophy. We do believe, as our Lord says in scripture to “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s. (Matthew 22: 21). However, what if Caesar (or your credit card companies) is willing to accept a fraction of what you owe them, versus the entire amount owed. This happened throughout scripture where debt was forgiven, and it still happening today in the 21st century.
In addition, we suggest that you use caution when talking to any company regarding Christians and debt consolidation loans. You simply do not need one to get out of debt. It is our belief that individuals, families and/or small businesses with multiple unsecured debts need to work with a debt relief company. Someone who will act as your advocate between you and your creditors in negotiating and settling your debt for pennies on the dollar.
Lastly, should you elect to choose this path anyway; we firmly suggest you understand completely the fee structure of these companies. The reason is they vary all over the board. If you do choose to use a debt consolidation company, have that company put in writing, separate from their contact, any/all fees that are associated with a debt consolidation loan. These instruments can be so evasive that fees can be buried in places even we are not aware off. Having everything in writing is always your best bet when entering into an agreement with a company where you could be susceptible to hidden costs.
We pray that our Lord bless you and guide you during this important juncture in your life and if you need help getting out of debt, please give us a call.
